Midnight Madness

I saw hundreds of happy faces when I picked my kids up at 3 am last night--all 10 (or so) theaters at the local mall were sold out.  Their summer:  Harry Pottter, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Futurama, Wilfred, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Facebook, Facebook, Lord of the Rings.

  2. That would have been forbidden. Evil teenagers .... But I think I'll go tomorrow.

Have you gone? Are you an HP fan?

  3. My daughter is a bit too young yet, and my wife is insisting we save the books for when she can read them herself (not too long now). So after she reads them then she will be allowed to see the movies.

I can't call myself a fan exactly, but I do like the series, I've read all the books, seen all the movies and generally I've enjoyed them. There are some things about the books that I take issue with, but they aren't supposed to be literature so it's not like a heavy critique is really in order. I'll probably see this one in a week when my daugher is at the grandparents.

You know what I did see yesterday though? Adjustment Bureau. Was better than I was expecting.

  4. I've seen all the movies, but truth be told, I've fallen asleep in most of them. No brag, just fact. I say in while #7 was read aloud, otherwise I haven't read them. Go HP, but I'm not quite in the fan club. Close, but this is just not a genre I can get into.

I liked the Adjustment Bureau, despite various obvious problems. It really does raise some interesting questions about free will. Love the external adjustments, and the question whether they reduce freedom.
