Ha...the word thing is at the NYT. You can change it so only Republican replies are displayed. That's very untherapeutic. Yeah, a bit bored...I can't help it. Any news story with the phrase "tea party" in it makes me think "wake me up when this is over."
Is 32% of tea party candidates winning a victory for the tea party? I suppose almost a 1/3 of their candidates winning seats, is pretty incredible considering the newness of the party.... But then again, isn't the Tea party really just a Republican masquerade?
Its sad we lost the house, I think I'm just going to reserve judgment until a year from now to see what happens.
Just a standard wave election with a tilt towards the Rs based on a terrible economy and non-cognitive rage based voting (voting is mostly non-cognitive anyway for some 80% of the population, this time it's just extra angry).
Congress has gone from mostly ineffectual to full lockdown.
It will be interesting to see if the polarization in this country transmutes into something else or if we are going to be deadlocked for the forseeable future.

Heh, lets see if Heraclitus is right.... A country with internal strife is more stable...
The mantra in our house:
silver lining, silver lining, silver lining
As in, let the republicans screw up now--it will help in 2012.
